Notes About Condition
Buyers
should be aware that all pieces have quite some years behind them, and that
it is almost impossible to still find "perfect" pieces.
A lot of
majolica has been repaired at some point - this does not necessarily
take away value and decorative appeal - and even pieces that are labeled "Very
Good" will show minor imperfections.
In our humble
opinion, it is further impossible to give a detailed and exhaustive
description of any piece's condition. Therefore, we have defined three
major classifications to describe the condition of the pieces.
The meaning
of these classifications is explained in the table below.
| General
Description |
Meaning |
| Very
good |
No
repairs, excellent overall condition, minor wear, small nicks,
flakes, chips or firing marks possible |
| Good |
One
or more chips and/or hairlines |
| Repaired |
One
or more visible repairs, besides possible chips and/or hairlines |
