Notes About Condition

Buyers should be aware that all pieces have quite some years behind them, and that it is almost impossible to still find "perfect" pieces.

A lot of majolica has been repaired at some point - this does not necessarily take away value and decorative appeal - and even pieces that are labeled "Very Good" will show minor imperfections.

In our humble opinion, it is further impossible to give a detailed and exhaustive description of any piece's condition. Therefore, we have defined three major classifications to describe the condition of the pieces.

The meaning of these classifications is explained in the table below.

General Description Meaning
Very good

No repairs, excellent overall condition, minor wear, small nicks, flakes, chips or firing marks possible

Good One or more chips and/or hairlines
Repaired One or more visible repairs, besides possible chips and/or hairlines

Should you have any concern about the condition of a piece you are interested in, or about our approach to describing the condition, please feel free to contact us with more questions. We are always willing to email you more pics or descriptions of any piece.

Finally, you are always covered by our Satisfaction Guarantee, as described in our Policies and Conditions.
